Breast Health Solutions

Women with dense breasts may benefit from supplemental screening beyond standard mammography. Invenia ABUS (Automated Breast Ultrasound) is the only FDA-approved ultrasound technology specifically for breast cancer detection in women with dense breasts, using no radiation or IV contrast. Abbreviated Breast MRI can detect up to 16 more breast cancers per 1,000 women, while full protocol breast MRI remains the most sensitive screening exam available for high-risk women.

One in eight women in the United States will develop breast cancer in her lifetime, with close to 300,000 new cases diagnosed annually. Three out of four women diagnosed have no family history of the disease. Most major medical organizations recommend women receive a screening mammogram every year beginning at age 40, and mammography has helped reduce the breast cancer death rate by nearly 40 percent.

After a mammogram at Inland Imaging, results are typically emailed to patients and their doctors within a week. It is not uncommon to receive a callback if dense breast tissue is found or if additional images are needed for clarification. Mammography results use the standardized BI-RADS classification system to communicate findings and recommend appropriate follow-up care.

MY MAMMOGRAM EXPERIENCE

My doctor told me to get a mammogram. The days of being too young to care have passed me by. Younger women might not even think about life after 40. But eventually, that time comes for us all. Despite my unwillingness to believe it, my body is nearly 48 years old.

Inspiring Survivor Stories

Because they caught and removed the cancer so soon, I didn’t have to have chemo, which would have meant a longer recovery and put another whole dark cloud over our home and family. Had Inland Imaging not called me, I don’t know if I would have scheduled the mammogram for a while, and I think my story might have turned out much differently.

We are the region’s only Breast Imaging Centers of Excellence recognized by the American College of Radiology. We offer comprehensive, patient-centered care with the most advanced technology in the region, convenient seven-day-a-week scheduling including evening appointments, and a dedicated team that coordinates with your primary and specialty care providers.

We’re here for you seven days a week, including evenings, to provide convenient scheduling that fits your busy life. This flexibility ensures you can prioritize your breast health without disrupting your daily routine.

For a screening mammogram, women over 40 do not need a physician referral. However, you must provide the name of your healthcare provider so we can send them your results. Diagnostic mammograms require a physician referral.

Screening imaging is routine preventive care for women without symptoms. Diagnostic imaging is performed when you have symptoms like breast pain, lumps, or nipple discharge, when additional imaging is needed after an abnormal screening, or when you have a known breast condition requiring monitoring.

3D mammography, also called breast tomosynthesis, is an advanced imaging technology that creates multiple thin slices of breast tissue. This provides more detailed images than traditional 2D mammography, improving cancer detection rates and reducing the need for follow-up imaging.
